In 2025, First Foundation Kids launched its groundbreaking Youth Job Readiness Training Program, designed to empower at‑risk youth with the skills, confidence, and opportunities they need to thrive in today’s workforce. Many of these young people faced barriers such as unstable housing, limited access to mentors, or the challenges of aging out of foster care. Yet, with determination and support, they embraced the program as a pathway to a brighter future.
Over the course of the year, participants engaged in:
Career workshops that taught resume writing, interview preparation, and workplace etiquette.
Hands‑on training in high‑demand fields such as technology, healthcare, and skilled trades.
Mentorship connections with professionals who guided them through real‑world challenges.
Internships and job placements that provided practical experience and opened doors to long‑term employment.
The results were remarkable: of the 49 training participants, 42 secured their very first jobs—and retained them for over 90 days of employment. For many, this was their first step toward financial independence and stability.
One participant, Jordan, had struggled to find direction after leaving foster care. Through the program, he gained confidence, built a professional resume, and landed a full‑time position as a medical assistant. Today, Jordan not only supports himself but also mentors younger peers entering the program—proof of the ripple effect that opportunity creates.
The Youth Job Readiness Training Program of 2025 was more than a workforce initiative; it was a life‑changing experience. By equipping at‑risk youth with the tools to succeed, First Foundation Kids helped transform uncertainty into opportunity, and dreams into reality.
Thanks to the generosity of donors and community partners, these young people are no longer defined by risk—they are defined by resilience, achievement, and hope.
